Reusable Baby Wipes

Now, for those of you that know me, you will know I am up for trying most things. Especially things that are a little bit thrifty, and may say me a few pence!

Last Friday, we went to the London ExCel to have a nosy around the BabyShow that was taking place over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. While we were shopping around all the lovely products everyone had to offer, we came across reusable baby wipes! Now, I had heard about making your own, and it all seemed a bit fiddly. I tried it once and gave up after  a few hours of using them. The company we met were Cheeky Wipes! A fantastic invention aimed at saving you money, the environment and hassle.

After a quick demo (it all looked so easy!) Jay decided this was a product that we should try out properly at home, to see if it was for us.

After a week of using these Cheeky Wipes, they have definitely proved to be worth the buy. I have found that you do not need so many wipes to clear a pooey bum, and the wipes are less harsh on sensitive skin. The system is very simple, you have a box for clean wipes, and a box for dirty ones, Each filled with a little water- clean to keep wipes moist, and dirty- to soak the wipes. Add a few drops of the special oils and hey presto- there are your wipes ready to be used. The wipes themselves are made from natural materials and for those of you that are ‘poop squeemish’ the dirty wipes are held in a net, that you just pop in the washing machine, so you don’t have to touch the dirty wipes with your hands! The kit also came with 2 travel bags, again one for clean and one for dirty. As you do not need so many wipes to clear a ‘job’ up, you are carrying less in your changing bag too. When you are not using the wipes, the whole kit packs inside of itself into one box, for easy storage!

I have not used any disposable wipes since using the new reusable wipes. But, even if you do decide to mix between using the two, your bound to save a few pence, and feel a bit better about your impact on the environment too 🙂

Ps- I included real dirty nappies- for added effect! 😉

Hardly frugal when you’ve purchased all that. Try a flannel, some baby oil and a washing machine. They saw you coming love!

    1. Although what I payed for the wipes, cost about the same as flannels, Baby Oil and a washing machine! Especially when I wash the everything by hand.
