How To Enjoy Your Garden… Without Any Hard Work

Most families simply don’t have time to maintain an attractive garden. For one thing, you can’t turn your back on the kids for a second! Children want to play, not watch you on your knees digging out weeds. And by the time the weekend comes along, all you’ve got the energy for is lazing out in the sun anyway. So can you have a beautiful garden without giving up a moment of that quality time with the kids?

Yes, it is possible. But it might take a bit of creative planning and preparation first! If you’re ready to make the changes to your outdoor spaces that can help you all enjoy your garden a lot more, then why not?

No Mud!

Start with the ground. Many lawns become quite muddy, patchy, and covered in weeds. Then you find you are tempted to stop the kids playing out to avoid all the mess of that coming back in the house. Have a read of this guide to artificial grass to see if you could enjoy your garden a bit more with this kind of lawn. If you hate mowing, or simply never find a dry enough day for it, then this solves the problem.

Artificial grass still looks like a green lawn, which is really attractive. Low maintenance gardens that are just concreted over or full of gravel never look good. They’re not the best surface for playing on either. Did you know you can also enjoy artificial flowers in pots and hanging baskets for your garden too? Why not bring a few bursts of colour to your outdoor space, with no need to maintain it? You might find it a little easier to grow real flowers and vegetables this way too.

Space To Play?

Think about what you might use the space for? The kids might play football or ride their cars and bikes around. But you’re more likely to sit and enjoy the fresh air. You need a great view to enjoy. And you’ll also need a great patio or outdoor dining set as well. Choose all-weather sets like rattan. The cushions can often be stored away, so they’re not wet when you sit down. Many of these sets also fold in under the table so they can be tucked out of the way.

Post It?

Fencing is hard work too. A storm can damage the wooden slats, and you might need to weather stain the wood every year. You can buy in stronger fencing that is pre-coloured and requires no maintenance whatsoever. Installing them is the only work you’ll have to do, but most companies include a price for that with your quote. They’re more secure when you have little ones and pets as well.

Britain’s weather isn’t always the best for being outside. But you can install a gazebo or even an open-sided conservatory to give you enough shelter for a passing shower. It means you can still make the most of the fresh air without worrying about getting damp. Add heaters and some garden lighting, and you might never come back indoors again!
