The Babymoon

It’s been a while hasn’t it?

I’ve hardly looked at my laptop or phone screen in the 3 weeks since Ivy has been with us. we decided to take a babymoon… like honeymoon, but after a baby! Something that is a very important bonding ritual for us.

Jay has been back at work for a week, and this first week of him not being here I have just spent my time taking things slowly. I let the laundry pile grow, the washing up bowl sit full and I didn’t even bother to wash my hair. Instead I spent the time cuddling my girls, playing (awfully boring) games, and watching Netflix (‘Are you still watching Postman Pat?’ Unfortunately Netflix I am.) We were all spending our time getting to know Ivy, and falling in love with her. I had some visitors pop over to see us, and I took a few strolls to the Childrens Centre and the local shop for very important top-ups of lollipops and chocolate.

We had a couple of important to-do moments, such as registering Ivy’s birth at the local registry office and we even had a hospital visit for her tongue-tie to be clipped (separate post on this later), and when the kids were all in bed, we relaxed with our body weight in Pringles and a cheeky bottle of wine… and an American Horror Story Marathon. We enjoyed lots of skin to skin, snoozy cuddles, fun bath times and a million kisses, Mostly with Ivy….

Last weekend was amazing. We didn’t see anyone, or do anything. We spent the whole weekend at home doing odd little jobs, refusing to get dressed and Willow even gained her first ever experience of Sonic The Hedgehog. epic.

I can quite honestly say, these last 3 weeks have been the most beautiful happiest 3 weeks of our lives.
