Family Days Out

A Birthday Picnic

The plan was to have a nice day out at a local forrest centre to celebrate Willows best friend, Williams 2nd birthday. I was to bring along a scrummy picnic, we could let the kids run riot while we have a good catch up and gossip.
What happened?
In true British fashion, it rained.

So we just headed to Will’s house to make a plan. The picnic was still gonna go ahead no matter what!

We decided to take a short 20 minute journey up the road to Tring and visit the Zoological museum. And best if all… It’s free (and all indoors).

Our first plan when we arrived was to eat! I had prepared our picnic carefully, designed around me being a new #MorrisonsMum- a smart savvy lady that spends ‘less than the rest’ by choosing to take advantage of the new Morrisons ‘I’m Cheaper’ range. Because of the rain it wasn’t a ‘real picnic’ as Willow kept reminding us. But, even though our picnic was spent indoors, eating off of a plastic table and was ant/wasp free, it was splendid!

The picnic came to a total of under £12 And fed 7 hungry mouths, with lots still left over for the car journey home.

I chose items that were ready to eat straight from its packaging to make the picnic as easy as possible, little toddlers weren’t going to wait longer than- hmmmm instantly, for their grub!

The mini cocktail sausages and the shortbread were defo a win for the kids!! Us parents munched down on the diddy pork pies and crisps! Oh and coffee….

Then it was time to see the animals!
Off the kids ran. We let them run and jump as much as they liked as we were the only people in the museum halls.
They were full of joy making all of the animal noises (they were stumped at tortoise) and even held hands as they ran…. Awwwwww!!
