The Family

Welcome Home Fairy

We have a new member of the family. Her name is Tink, She is 2 years old and about 5 centimetres tall. And she’s a fairy.

The Irish Fairy Door Company have created the beautiful fairy door for Tink to claim as her own and to use as her way to journey from the mystical fairy world- Fairy Valley, into our own world, brightening up our days. These wonderful doors are created to help fairy’s relocate into human homes, classrooms, gardens and woodland. Once our fairy has moved in, the magic continues through various interactive ways via the website and Magical Matters app. We just had to register Tink on The Irish Fairy Door Company’s website and the interactive world was opened, full of messages, play ideas and stories.

Fairy Door review

The Irish Fairy Door Company was created just 18 months ago by lifelong friends Niamh Sherwin Barry and Aoife Lawler, along with their husbands Oisin and Gavin. The doors can be installed just about anywhere, and have found homes for over 150,000 fairy’s since launch. Niamh says “Our mission is to give every fairy a human home, and for every human home to have its very own fairy.” What a beautiful idea!

As soon as Willow saw inside of the box her face lit up. I read her and Olive the poem and I could really see the magic and belief in her bright eyes. To see her that mesmerised meant a lot to me, and that memory shall stay with me forever. She chose Tink’s name herself and where she wanted the door to go- On my wall unit, next to my other trinkets. She said some magic words and put the key next to the door, and off she went to school… talking all about Tink on the way. I’m sure her teacher will here all about her new friend too!

fairy door review

The doors look very well made and every detail is taken into consideration, incuding a little magic key that is left by the door when you welcome your fairy in. The silver key looks stunning, and has a tiny loop on the handle so you could hang it somewhere if you wished to. The set also comes with some miniature wooden stepping stones to be placed outside of the door, or piled together like a tiny log pile for your fairy’s fireplace. The paint and decoration on the  to door is well made and painted beautifully too. Inside the box is a poem that you can read to your children that really sets the scene for the magic to begin, explaining how the door works and what to do with the magic key.

The Irish Fairy Door Company, have lots of different doors to choose from, and lots of extra decorations for your fairy door, including little washing lines, door mats and even door plaques. There are also story books, decal packs colouring packs and fairy dust – to name a few- that can be purchased for even more fairy fun.

I am so completely in love with this product. It has made my children believe, and has made myself fall in love with fairies all over again. I feel like a kid once more, and I can’t wait to have fun with my girls and Tink. We are going to have so much fun!
