Christening …. The 160 Year Old Gown

Todays #SnapHappyBritMums word is Christening.
Here my mother-in-law, Sally explains a little about the beautiful Christening gown that means so much in her family.

“Handmade by candle light by my Great Grandmother on my mother’s side. It was made for the Great Exhibition held in The Crystal Palace, London in 1851. She was presented with a silver thimble, a print of the Crystal Palace which has all the statistics about the building on, and a small red wax like picture… which are framed and in our dining room.”

Now that IS something special to be proud of!
