Yesterday was Shrove Tuesday… aka Pancake day!! I know every child across the UK loves this day, it’s a matter of fact.
I grew up in the town of Olney, which of course is the world famous town for being the originator of Pancake day. I remember the hype and excitement of the famous pancake race, starting from town square and ending at the church. Oh we loved it! You can read a (very) old blog post of mine here, about Olney and its history with the famous pancake race.
Yesterday the flour, eggs and milk were in full force in our kitchen. The smoke alarm was dismembered. Every filling imaginable was thrown around and of course, like every wonderful parent out there, we were encouraging the kids to suck on lemons. AGH ITS JUST TOOOOO FUNNY!!!!
So, Do you go traditional with lemon and sugar or even ‘stick’ to what you know’ with some luscious Golden Syrup drizzled across your pancakes instead? Maybe you went wacky with marshmallows and some crazy cheeses… or did you go for my favourite…. Nutella?! Ouch, I love that stuff! So so much it hurts!
