OK, Firstly I cannot believe this has taken me over 2 months to get written. I admit I actually forgot to write it! But I feel I should share with you the day we all met Mr. Bloom!
Willow BEGGED and PLEADED for us to go see Mr.Bloom, in Letchworth Garden City. Right, I might as well admit this now…. While I had my daughters’ best interests at heart, becuase I know she loves Mr.Bloom, I really wanted to go and see him. I am made to watch his show every day (twice a day sometimes) aired on the Cbeebies channel, and I seem to have developed a little soft spot for Ben Faulks, the actor who plays Mr. Bloom. I think it must be his wellies that does it.
Cbeebies star, Mr Bloom, played by Faulks headlined the gardening stage at the Letchworth Food and Garden Festival on May 19th, in the town center. We made sure we got there nice and early to get a good spot… but we had to head to Costa first. When we got to the main stage it was packed…. Totally rammed…. and not just with eager children ready to meet their TV star, but it was infact packed with mums, all wanting a slice of the Bloom… Ok I admit, I was one of those mums… and so was my friend Leesa, I swear she is worse than me sometimes….
I did what any good mother would do trying to find the best spot for my child, and that was to worm my way through the kids (and mums… and a couple of dads ?!) and found our place right on the floor by the stage. Damn, Im good….
Mr Bloom, came and did a fantastic little half an hour show which included all the faveourite songs from his TV show. Every one was smiling and dancing. It was the most amazing atmosphere (if not a little deafening!). He proved himself to be a good showman making the show as informative, fun, and loud as could be, while keeping his cheeky grin the whole way through…… agh swoon!
So, the show was over and he even agreed to sit with the children and have his picture taken with them. As much as I would have loved to have met / grabbed him, the queues were far too long and the kids were getting hungry. We did get a fab snap of him though as he was getting ready to meet the ‘Tiddlers’.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to my father-in-law Keith Newhouse for the amazing photographs, and thanks for taking us 🙂 …. I swear it was all for Willow (and me!), He is a fantastic grandad/photographer/father/and father-in-law!
