DIY Cardigan

Jay accidentally tore his tank top (yes, Jay wears tank tops. Mummy fans of Mr.Bloom, you be well jel) and it seemed such a shame to throw the whole jumper into the bin because of a tear. I decided to have a go at making something new out of it to wear myself.

In typical Hazel-Style, I totally winged it and made it up as I went along.
I started by cutting down the front to make a basic cardigan shape.

I stitched the cut edges to make a skinny hem. I had to sew by hand (which when I have lost my glasses, meant to was not exactly beautiful).

Then i just added some buttons, and a little woollen flower that I made.
BAM! A new cardy in around an hour.
I think it looks a little retro, don’t you?
In fact my nan has one near identical…..
