Dinner At The Savoy

Last night my husband and I were treated to a very posh dinner at the London Savoy Grill.
Ok, so those of you who know me, know that I would stick out like a sore thumb in a place like this… But, I had a shower, washed my hair and put some slap on and it turns out that I can actually scrub up quite well!

Upon arrival we started the evening with the most beautiful champagne I have ever tasted in my life. A waiter was explaining all of the fancy wine choices… But I think he noticed me looking at him with complete confusion and wonder. Actually I think he could have been explaining the first moon landing and I would have been none the wiser!

The reason we were out for dinner was to celebrate how well my husband has performed at work in these last few months. One of the chefs heard about this and delivered this beautiful plate to Jay….

One steak and one mixed grill later, we were completely relaxed and enjoying the moment (with no kids for once!). For pudding was Lime cheesecake for Jay and I had a stunning Creme Brûlée…. Absolute perfection. Coffee and fancy chocolates followed. We did not want to leave.
But we had to board the train and come home… It was the most perfect few hours possible.
So, as I pick up my rubber gloves, sort through the washing and keep the kids happy today, I think of how wonderful our night was.
I think I could get used to that kind of life style 😉

I completely recommend dining at the Savoy Grill at least once in your life. Make it a special date and savour every second of it. You really cannot get better than this…..
