Daily Habits That Will Help Keep Your Home Tidy

If you are constantly busy, then you may feel as though you just don’t have time to keep your home tidy. This is understandable, but by changing your daily habits, you can be sure to stay on top of everything with ease.

Make the Bed

A lot of people think that making the bed is a complete waste of time, but this is not the case. When your bed is made, coming home to it will feel so much better and you may even find that the room looks tidier as a result. If you want to make this into a habit, then you need to try and keep your bedding as simplified as possible. If you have tons of throws and pillows then this will make the job take way longer and this is the last thing that you need.

Don’t be a Perfectionist

You will probably want your home to be clean and tidy, and this is understandable but that doesn’t mean that every little thing needs to be 100% perfect. You need to teach yourself to be satisfied with 80% of the house being clean. If you obsess over every little detail, then the last 20% will take way longer than you need and you will also be taking care of places where nobody will see.  If you just don’t have time to get everything done, consider trying to find a live in housekeeper.

Get Everyone Involved

You may feel as though it’s easier for you to get the job done yourself, but by getting other people involved you can be sure to get it done faster. Having your kids wash up after themselves, or even putting their shoes away when they come home can make a huge difference and it can also make your home feel tidier too. You may need to keep going on at your kids for the first couple of weeks, but eventually it will become routine and this will make everything easier.

Clean up at Night

It’s so important that you make it a routine to do all of the cleaning up at night. Put a timer on for 15 minutes and then clean up as fast as you can. When the timer is up, put everything down and then leave it for the night. You would be surprised at how much more you can get done by doing this and it also stops you from wasting your entire night too.

Keep Supplies where you Need Them

If you have a cupboard stocked with all of the cleaning supplies you need then this is great but if you are not careful then you may find that it demotivates you when it comes to getting things done. If you have to go downstairs to get the products you need to clean your bathroom then this can be frustrating, and it takes up way more time than you need as well. So to get around this, you need to keep any supplies close to where they are going to be used. This will really help you to stay on top of everything and it will also help you to get everything done.
