A Royale Welcome

A few weeks ago I saw this beautiful coachbuilt pram made by Royale on EBay. I wanted it and I wanted it bad.

I ‘watched’ and I bid…. I lost.
It popped up again, relisted, as the original buyer failed to turn up to collect it.
So, this time it HAD to be mine!!!

Fast forward a few days…. It’s now mine. I always get what I want *sulky pouty face* 😉

When I went to collect the pram, the lady selling was lovely and owned a few prams as well as some incredible ReBorn dolls, dressed in the most amazing outfits, made by herself. I told her how pleased I was to finally be getting the pram as I really felt that I had to have it. I even shed a tear there and then with joy! How embarrassing.

I could see by the pictures on eBay that there was a fair few bits that needed mending on the pram. Nothing too major, a torn hood (in 2 places) and torn apron, not to mention that it just needed a polish.

Since having her home for a whole 6 hours I have polished and cleaned all of the chrome, removed the rust specks, re stitched half of the body as the stitching was rotten in parts, polished the body and washed the inside of it and finally, I have cleaned the wheels from dust, mud and well, just grime! I even managed to track down a previous owner…. Good old Facebook!

There is lots still to do on her, but all very easy. I cannot describe how in love with this pram I am, and it is so different to the other 5 that I now have….. Haha!
I am going to take her on the maiden voyage tomorrow to my friends house who is another pram collector, she’s only a 10 minute walk from my house too. Perfect for a cuppa!

Another New Pram

As you probably can tell from my past posts, I am totally in love with old coachbuilt prams. This was an accidental love affair and a totally unplanned new hobby!
Last Monday Jay sent me a text telling me to have the kids ready in their pjs and some nibbles packed for a journey ready for when he gets home… Confused.com right?!
So I did as he said, and when he got home he announced to me that we would be taking a ‘quick’ journey to Kings Lynn to pick up a new pram. SQUEEEEEE!
So… Here she is….

Not much needs doing on it, just a little freshen up. But I am so in LOVE!
I still know nothing about this pram, except that it may be around 1970s and is (obviously) a Mothercare!
