Every day through the month of October, I shall be publishing a blog post for #Blogtober16 hosted by the wonderful Mandi, who blogs at Hexmumblog. A different topic each day, for 31 days. Easy right? I bet I don’t finish it. I’m so rubbish at these things.
Anyways, todays theme is ‘Who are you?’.
I am Hazel Newhouse and I live in Bedfordshire. Mum to 3 daughters, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 10 chickens. We have just moved house to start a new life living self sufficiently on our Urban back-yard mini-farm. We cook everything from scratch and we don’t buy disposable items…Including toilet roll! Everything is reused as much as possible. We don’t eat animals either… if I can’t grow it or make it, we tend to live without it. But we do not ever deny ourselves luxuries. Days out, nice clothes and the odd take-away is totally allowed. Any why not, when we save so much money else where?!
I started blogging back in 2012, when our first born arrived. It’s a hobby for me, and one that I surprisingly haven’t given up on near enough instantly. I never imagined that nearly 5 years later I would still be at it.
I’m a simple soul with an amazing network of friends. We help each other out a lot. I even helped one of them in the delivery suite just 9 days ago. We’re tight like that yo. I listen to a wide range of music, but Horror Punk will always be my first love. I am covered in tattoos and I also leak like a sieve on a rainy day. Not that I wear many piercings these days. I pull a mean pint and I’m a pretty damn good cook.
My house is like a living museum from the 1940’s. My garden looks like a scrap yard (atm). I love all things horror. I have just started a new website www.thecurios.co.uk where I share all things bizarre, weird and grotesque. It’s not one for kids. I don’t class myself as a mummy blogger, I’m a frugal and eco living blogger.
I love telly, knitting and museums. I like taxidermy and carboot fairs. I collect vintage prams.
Married.
Likes avocados.
Loves babies.
Hates moths.
I don’t think you need to know anything else, do you?
Hi Hazel and welcome to #Blogtober16, of course you will finish it, because I shall be reminding you every couple of days! (if I remember myself) I am looking forward to hearing more about your lovely family and your eco way of life, who knows I may save a few pennies from your tips!
